About Ethernews
Ethernews is a front page for the Ethereum ecosystem. It watches a hand picked list of sources around the clock, groups what they publish into stories, ranks the stories by significance and freshness, and writes a one sentence plain language explainer under every headline. The result is one page that answers the question "what is happening in Ethereum right now" without a feed to scroll or an account to make.
Sections
Stories and podcasts are categorized across the areas of Protocol, Apps, and World.
- Protocol: the building of Ethereum itself. Core dev calls, EIPs, client releases, and research.
- Apps: what's being built on Ethereum. L2s, DeFi, and new launches to try.
- World: Ethereum in the broader world. Regulation, institutions, markets, and mainstream coverage.
A story or podcast related to multiple areas can have two labels while roundup style content will appear in all.
How it works
A pipeline runs around the clock. It reads the whitelisted sources, which range from client teams and research forums to mainstream newsrooms, and hands anything new to an editor model that decides what counts as news, merges coverage of the same event into one story, and files it under Protocol, Apps, or World. The rules it applies are public on the criteria page.
Everything on the site flows from that: the stream is the raw feed of accepted items, the daily archive freezes each day at UTC midnight, and clicking the date in the header time travels to any archived front page.
Connect an AI assistant
Ethernews is also a remote MCP server. Point any MCP enabled assistant at https://ethernews.org/api/mcp and it can pull the top stories, the newest items, daily and weekly reviews, the podcasts shelf, or search. The connection is read only and needs no account or key.
Follow and contact
Ethernews posts its daily and weekly digests to X and Farcaster, and offers daily and weekly email digests. Story suggestions come in through the submit page, and anything else can be communicated to: hello@ethernews.org.
